Our little Sofia is turning 1 on November 19th and we are thinking of throwing her a birthday party.
Any ideas for the party? Cake ideas? Party decor or favors ideas?
She has a few doggie friends and human friends that we are planning to invite.

Does anyone have a good birthday cake recipe for dogs?

Lucy turned 1yr old today :) :) :) I made fruity cupcakes with "doggie treat icing" Lucy LOVED them! and I was happy that it didn't disturb her tummy either! I mixed 3 cups of flour, 3Tbsp corn syrup, 1Tbsp backing powder, 1 apple, 2 banana's, 1 small bag of frozen fruits (this one had red & black raspberries, strawberries, & blue berries). Cooked at 350 until WELL done.
Icing: break up dog treats in a bowl with luke warm water until they are "mushy" then mix them with 1/4-1/2 banana and 1/4 cup water. I added dog treats and banana until I got the consistancy I wanted. Chilled i while the cupcakes cooled and then put them on the cupcakes!
My pug loved it but is there anything a pug wouldn't just gobble up!???? :) :)

I know that the date has already passed, but perhaps you or someone else may be able to use this information for future birthdays!
We had a pug birthday bash with my meetup group back in August, and we used adorable paw print themed party supplies we found at our local PartyWorks party supply store.

I made a "cake" using mini muffins I make with a recipe from my Three Dog Bakery cookbook. I then arranged the muffins into a bone shape, and covered it all with a dog-friendly cream cheese recipe for the frosting. The dogs LOVED it!

To the right of the cake, you will see doggie cookies, made by the host, which were for the humans. I also made bone-shaped brownies with a white icing, which were also for the humans. I used the recipe for Sweetheart Brownies on CookingVillage.com, just change out the cookie cutter shape for another!
It was so much fun!

Great ideas!! I love the party plates and napkins and the yummy looking food. Dog parties are so much fun, more people should throw dog parties!

I've never thrown my pugs a birthday party before. I guess that will be something to look in too.
