I am leaving next week for 7 days in Florida. A friend of mine was going to keep Milo for me and has had a family emergency come up. Now I have to board Milo and it is breaking my heart. The facility is nice ( I have already made the site visit) but just the idea of him being there is killing me. Any suggestions on how to handle the seperation anxiety (especially for me). Milo is quite the pampered dog.

The best thing to keep in mind is that Milo will be having a fantastic time playing with other dogs (ie. "making friends at summer camp"). :)
And also keep in mind that the people at the facility are professionals.

Oh it is hard to leave your pug for an extended period of time! Just keep in mind that he will have so much fun meeting new friend dogs and he will love you just as much when you come back :)

I feel much better now about leaving him. This Vet/Kennel is like the Hilton for animals. The staff was so loving towards him and took us (meaning me and Milo)through the entire place. There is also a lady there who owns pugs and she immediately fell in love with Milo. I will miss him but now I can enjoy my vacation and not worry about his care.

Oh good! It really makes a difference when you have to board them, if you feel comfortable with the place.
